Join Brad and Susan Imsdahl along with Lothar and Monika Propson and their dog Töönchen, as they go on an RV camping vacation in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, and France, June 13th through June 27th, 2014. Highlights include a drive through the Black Forest, camping at Lake Schluchsee, camping at Lake Constance, camping in Liechtenstein, a visit to the Rhine Falls, camping near Waldshut Germany, camping in Mulhouse France, tasting the local wine at a vineyard near Colmar France, a visit to Eguisheim, and camping in Baerenthal France.

Video 5 of Brad and Sue's 2014 European Vacation. Before going on this trip, Sue was worried about driving an RV in the mountains. I assured her that mountains have valleys and that the freeways are at the bottom of these valleys on level ground. Apparently driving on the freeways is not the European way of going on holiday. This video takes us on a ride in an RV on the back roads through the Black Forest of Germany.

Bodensee

Video 8 of Brad and Sue's 2014 European vacation. Lake Constance, or Bodensee as it is called in German, is a lake on the Rhine River at the northern foot of the Alps. It is situated in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. We decided to spend a second day at this campground so that we could explore the area and take a ferry boat ride across the lake.

Today we leave our campground on Lake Constance and head south through Switzerland, then east into Austria to buy groceries, then south into the small European country of Liechtenstein. Our 5th campsite is called Camping Mittagsspitze, located in the southern part of the country.

Driving Over a Really Big Mountain

Video 12 of Brad and Sue's European vacation. Today we head back into Switzerland over a really big mountain, headed for a campsite on the far western side of Lake Constance. We first cross over the Rhine River valley from Liechtenstein into Switzerland, and then take a small road up the side of the mountain.

Our 6th campsite is called Camping Hüttenberg, a family owned campground on former farm land, and is located on the western side of Lake Constance next to where the Rhine River exits the lake and flows west towards France. The campsite is on a hill overlooking the lake, and the Rhine River valley.

Lothar wanted to walk across the bridge to see the Swiss version of Koblenz, so I walked with him along with Töönchen while Monika and Sue stayed at the campsite to prepare dinner.
