So glad that Sue is done with chemo. Maybe, now she can start to feel like her old self again and stop thinking about stupid cancer. But we will still keep you guys in our prayers because we know she is still vulnerable. Hope we can get together sometime. At least we can look forward to better weather. Finally. Take care.

Hope the days ahead keep getting brighter for you. So glad that your tests came back with good results....one less hurdle to face. Thinking about you and Brad and all the trials you have been through together. Isn't it nice to have all those cats to comfort you? Just hugging and stroking your pets can raise your mood and I'm sure it benefits them as well.
You guys take care,
Jackie
P.S. Hope Brad's mom is recovering okay

Hi to both of you! I haven't been on the site because I couldn't find the thread after my Flu. So no going to Dad's or visiting Mom either. I am better now and so I thought I'd catch up. Hope your both doing well. I see Crys on Facebook. Take care. I have you both in my prayers. We are having snow, snow, and more snow and it's just nuisance snow - a few inches here and there and it blows all over!

You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as you fight to regain good health. Included in the prayers are thanks for the discovery of the cancer before it advanced even further, strength for your family, and knowledge for those providers who are administering your treatments. May you heal quickly and completely.

Hi Sue and Brad,
Thanks for sending the link to your blog. I had heard that Sue had surgery, but had no idea you were going through all of this. The blog is a fabulous idea. Your candor and explanations are not only interesting but they are also helpful to understand how this all works. (Seems like it is only a matter of time until we all have this dreadful disease.) I loved the video, but I have to ask: How in the world can Sue still look so pretty without any hair? I won't comment on Brad's looks.
You will be in our prayers every day. Promise. Love you both.

Hi!
I am part of Sue’s family....but you would not know me! I am Gail Perschbacher’s first cousin on her mother’s side ( Lorna and my father were siblings). Gail and I just spoke by phone about a week ago and talked about my recent breast cancer. She then told me of Sue’s fight with this nasty stuff....and I have been reading the blogs. You are both amazing and courageous to be blogging about this “journey” if you will. I hope the “bumps” that you’ve been navigating start to smooth out SOON! I’ll be checking in to read the latest.
With warm regards and a hope that 2013 will be a great New Year for you all!

Hi Sue,
As this New Year begins I find myself thinking of you and hoping it is your best year yet! May you, Brad, your parents, sibling and the kiddens all enjoy this time of renewal.
I know you and your sister in law have not completed your treatments or recovery but I pray for your healing to be swift and complete.
Look how far you have all come in the past year. From the first test, to the agonizing wait for results, to the scary surgery, through the disabling chemo. How strong you have become! Mentally and spiritually now; physically in the future. God bless and may your growth continue all year long!
Prayers, love and hugs!

Hi Sue and Brad,
Just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts today. Hope the chemo session went well yesterday and your body is adjusting okay. I'll keep checking the blog to see if you develop any problems with this treatment; but I'm hoping that any affects would be mild and not too bothersome or uncomfortable. You seem to be able to keep up your spirits and roll with the punches; but I'm sorry that you've had to go through all this.
Love & Hugs,

Sorry to hear about the Chemo troubles. It is tough. It’s good to have the Doc’s on top of the dosing though. They have a lot of experience you can count on. Just no easy way to kill the Cancer Creep! FYI you can do fluids @ home if you want. That way you know your getting enough.
We luv the new doo’s. Shouldn’t the cats get sympathy haircuts too? RRRRRR (mad cat sound).
We pray for the Dr.’s wisdom in helping you both cope. We luv you and pray for you to have spiritual, and emotional strength for the road ahead. This is the toughest physical time, but it gets sooo much better.

Hey Brad and Sue, You two are so adorable. Love your heads. Sue, we are praying that you will not have to suffer too much longer. So sorry that the chemo is so hard. I wish there were more we could do to make things better. I thought of a scripture that a sister once shared with me that I think is encouraging. It’s Psm. 94:18,19, “When I said: “My foot will certainly move unsteadily, your own loving-kindness, O Jehovah, kept sustaining me. When my disquieting thoughts became many inside of me, your own consolations began to fondle my soul.” We will pray and pray and pray for you and when you’re feeling better, we will come and visit.
Love you both.

I"m getting really bad at checking email regularly-- but I just checked in on the blog. I'm so sorry to read that the typical chemo side effects have hit you hard, Sue. I imagine you are NOT looking forward to the next visit, but now that you know you're one of the "special" ones, I know you'll come up with a plan to make this easier next time. I wonder if there's a way with humans to give fluids in the comfort of your home, similar to what we can do with cats. Not that am suggesting we grab you by the back of your neck and stick you with a needle, but you probably catch the drift.
I love the blog cat picture, suggesting shoe barf -- if none of your cats would actually do this for you, one of mine sure would - I can lend her to you. And Brad, loved the mini back of the head mohawk before it was cut off.
Hang in there, both of you: you're always in my thoughts!

Now, quit being so nice; quit thinking about others and start thinking of yourself. You need to try your best to stay hydrated and rest as much as possible. Hi Sue,
So sorry to hear you are having to deal with the complications from the chemo. I know from my brother and Tim that it's VERY important to stay hydrated. They went through the same thing and had to step up their fluids. As for the nausea.....I take Ginger Root Tea, Licorice, Apple juice with a little apple cider vinegar and wear seabands on my wrists a lot of the time (.on pressure points for nausea ) and put essential peppermint oil on my stomach (it takes about 20 mins. to take affect). One of these remedies may help you cope with the nausea. Hope things start settling down soon.

If you're reading this, it must mean you're feeling better, so that's good news! I hear the surgery went well. But now comes the hard part. Recovery! I hope to come out to see you when you're up to it. I hate that you had to go through this. Too bad we don't get to pick and choose the cruddy stuff we have to go through. I hope you have plenty of support through all of this.

Glad to hear that you are home, and I hope the pain level is starting to lessen, But just take your time and let your body put your energy into healing.
Don't feel guilty about having people helping you---they want to do it because they love you! And don't feel guilty about telling visitors that it is time for you to rest; sometimes even the best meaning friends don't understand just how tiring a visit can be! A few years ago you would have still been in the hospital for about 10 days but thanks to insurance they scoot you out asap!
Take care and get plenty of rest. Sounds like Brad and Cheryl are doing a good job in the nursing department.

Hey~
Went wig shopping with my sister today, she bought a less expensive one today (just in case of emergency hair loss) and found a more expensive one they are going to order in her color that insurance will reimburse for, should be there early next week. I think we are both enjoying our time on our shopping trips, chemo treatments, and just talking more about us and our places in the family. It is too bad that we wait 'till these times to take advantage of or never ending up using our time as wisely as we could. Anyways, good to hear you are doing well. Love,
Dana, Angela, Nik & Madi Hanson

I was so glad to hear from you today Sue. I was sad to think that we have lost contact for so long. You have a wonderful positive attitude towards your cancer and that will carry you through this and beyond. I wish you the most positive thoughts and so much love going into this surgery. I will be of any help I can to either of you during this whole surgery and healing process. Please ask if you need anything.
Brad, excellent blogging; it is very informational and helpful to follow.
I wish you both the most love........Marcia

I am so glad to hear you are exploring all your options in treatment. I am in awe of how much you have been through and how much you have learned in such a short time. Brad's blog is wonderful.
I have three friends, all about between 35 and 45 at diagnosis. One was stage one and underwent lumpectomy and radiation, no chemo She is doing wonderful.
The next was stage two with a positive node, she underwent unilateral mastectomy sentinel node excision and axillary node biopsy. The sentinel node was positive, the axillary were negative. She later had the opposite breast removed with bilateral reconstruction at that time. A few months later she has a PET scan which showed a positive lymph node in her armpit on the opposite side of her original cancer. This changed her to basically a stage 4 She had the node removed, and underwent chemo radiation again. It has now been 4 years with no recurrence since. She did have a couple of scares where on routine screening things lit up...but all was fine on further imaging. She is very at risk and is very good at follow up.
The third had a stage one breast cancer and chose bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. She is 10 years out with no recurrence.
You are in our prayers as you make this decision. Only you can decide what is the right thing in your case. Get all the second, third or fourth opinions you need from the doctors.
Talk with Brad, the rest of your family, friends and others who have been through similar situations. But most of all listen to your heart, let your heart and faith guide you through this most difficult time.
You are in my prayers and thoughts.

Boy, what challenges you have been through the past couple of weeks. I appreciate that you have included us in on this part of your life, which most people would have not said anything about and suffered silently. Thanks to Jehovah's organization, his people don't have to do that. We can reach out and gain the love and support of those in the congregations. May Jehovah watch over Sue to gain her health and to Brad to help support her and for endurance to you both.
All our love,
The Starmer's
P.S. When Sue is home recuperating from her surgeries, we have movies that you could borrow to pass the time. ;)

We are so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. We had no idea that was going on. I read the blogs you had posted and it sounds like at least your cancer hasn't spread and hopefully with the surgeries you'll be free of all traces of it. Still, I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now. Keep relying on Jehovah for strength and he can give you that power beyond what is normal. Both Clint and I will be praying for you and hoping for a speedy recovery! Keep us updated on what is happening.

Wow! This is allot to take in. I am very glad Brad is going to keep us all updated. I love it. I am very sorry to hear that you will have to have chemotherapy, that is so not glamorous. None of this is. I do appreciate that you still have a sense of humor about your breast situation. Thank you for reaching out to keep us all posted, that will help allot. You are in our prayers. Have a good evening.

Thank you so much for letting us know what has been happening. This no doubt is troubling, and brings you anxiety and worry, we will keep both of you in our prayers. I still keep a ripped out page of the bible in my wallet from when Ciarra was in the hospital of which one of my favorite verses was- Ps 125:1 Those trusting in Jehovah Are like Mount Zion, which cannot be made to totter, but dwells even to time indefinite. The following is one of my favorite songs, especially the vocal rendition! Warning though you will probably cry when you listen to it, so grab a tissue!!! Later though, it will prove to be a source of strength for you.
Sing to Jehovah # 68 (A prayer of the lowly one)
May you continue to see Jehovah’s hand in times of distress.

I am so very sorry that you are being challenged in this way! The good news is that you have been so diligent in your exams and it has been caught at this early stage.
You have been in my prayers since your Mom told me late last week---and I will continue to pray for you and Brad.
In way of encouragement, 5 out of the 9 gals in my investment club have also had breast cancer and everyone of them is doing fine---2 of them even after more than 5 years out. They were diagnosed in all stages--2 of them stage 1, 2 in stage 2 and one even in stage 4. Treatments varied for all 5, but so much progress has been made in treatments it is very encouraging.
I really appreciate Brad's blog and will continue to check for updates. Remember that I am there with you in thought and prayer and would do anything to help.

Thank you for sharing this information with us. As a cancer survivor myself, I am aware of the shock and other emotions you might be experiencing. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend joining a support group for cancer patients and/or caregivers. There is nothing like sharing your feelings and fears with someone who "gets it". You'll both be in my thoughts and prayers as you travel this road together and find your "new normal".

I read your blog and it CERTAINLY has been a couple of rough weeks for you!! I know that all the "up and downs" can really be hard on your spirit. This must be taking such an emotional toll on both of you. I think waiting for test results is so always nerve-wracking. I know that you have everyone's loving support and that Jehovah is by your side to get you through this. I am glad that you are keeping everyone up-to-date....even though I know that sometimes the words are hard to write. You will both be in my thoughts and prayers as you struggle through this.

I was just shocked and so upset that this kind of thing has to happen to someone who is so very amazing. I know cancer doesn't pick and choose, but it's just so hard to accept when it hits home. I'm sorry this is happening to you. Thank God you found it early, and I'm praying the outcome will be great good health for you very soon and you have to go through a minimum of 'stuff' to get that outcome. I'm here for you if you need ANYTHING. I mean this. I miss you, love you and will keep you in my prayers ALWAYS, Brad too. Love, Peggy
